Can be done, and I wouldn't mind flying alongside some lanterns! Would have to be in daylight hours though!!

Seeing these everywhere since this thread started. Latest one this afternoon in a protected heath / beauty spot. Luminous green, not degrading, and standing out like a beacon! We took it down with a branch and stuck the metal wire in the nearest bin.
