Default From Pits to Palaces

Just read the book by WIlf Scott (Pyrovision) ' From Pits to Palaces' as Vera got a signed copy for me when she met him last weekend.

Not sure if it is on sale anywhere but its a cracking and humorous read of his exploits through the years from his student days to present. If you can find it I highly recommend it

Nice try - wrong book - unless that is the one you were looking for

I cant find Wilfs book on Google and it has no isbn number - so probably a privately published one he uses when giving talks and speeches.

Hi Gerry

I got the book aswell, very good reading indeed. Shame you missed the meeting.
The talk was very interesting and Wilf seems to have had an amazing life in theatre and as a pyro designer, not many get to meet the Queen. It was really nice meeting and chatting with him again.

Looking forward to the next time.

I love the comment he wrote in my book

Graham (TATTY)

PS The Philippines show looked very good in HD, I may have to ask andy for a copy

Totally off-topic, but years ago my dad once met the queen in a corridor at the Palace after a banquet (he'd been hired to photgraph the flowers). She was holding her shoes in her hand and moaning about her aching feet.

About 20 years later, she was opening some exhibition at the British Museum and he was official photographer. She came up to him and said "Don't I remember you from somewhere?"

Quite amazing.

My copy of the book arrived yesterday. Wilf is an absolute star. It makes for a brilliant read. If you can find a copy then buy it.

Hi to GTatty and Gerry too. The meeting was good and a great chance to catch up with fellow firers.

Just to prove my ignorance, what was the meeting that you are referring to?
