I guess its down to having the very best you can get.... or..... making do and getting by

Or making a wise choice to get the appropriate tool for the job and to resist the temptation to needlessly fritter away money on something that's OTT.

Hence.... I have no need of MAPP, Propane's fine. Part of me would love to get a nice electric firing system and do whatever's necessary to use that for my own displays..... but for my School cat3 is where it's at and I'm not firing to music. Hence my choice. For you, running a pro-display company and doing the things you do, what's right for you is different. For 'Tigger doing fire rope, well if MAPP is really better, that's the tool for the job. Horses for courses.

well when you buy something for less than £10 (Mapp gas) there isn't really too much of a saving to be had or indeed a vast amount to fritter

Every little helps...... although I hate to bring a well known supermarket ad into it!

But if you're getting MAPP for under a tenner, you'd better tell 'Chief where since he's asking and says the cheapest he's found is £12.99 and that's way more than Propane. Agreed that under a tenner, MAPP getting close to Propane on cost. Come to think of it..... don't just tell 'Chief..... tell us all - it may well help other folk out. (Not me - I've enough gas for a couple more years yet.)

I have to agree with Stu, Yellow canister - easier to see when I've put it down and have one of many blonde moments and forget where I've put it!

That's what yellow reflective tape is for. Senior moments and that ever present feeling of "where did I leave my hammer...?"

Mmmmm....... I've got black - exactly the right colour for a Vicar.

If I need reflective tape for it, perhaps I should get white for the clerical collar look.

Stu - THANK YOU!! Got there in the end!

I like MAPP, it sounds cool, looks cool and burns hot, i too have found better resistance to the elements, Jeff see your point, its just personal preference
