Propane is only £8 -unless you need to weld something?
Then I only use propane to sweat plumbing joints...
I feel that I'm repeating myself here, but why do you need mapp for fuses? It just don't make sense & never will! Would it be some-kind of hype? A must have? Yellow body? It's all bollocks!
Save yourself £5 Karl - go propane King of the Hill swears by it & so do I.

Seconded, I've used propane in mine and never had a problem, only need MAPP gas for brazing.

MAPP burns hotter and having tested both side by side, its more resistant to being blown out by the wind. As its hotter and gives a more intense flame, fuse ignition must be faster?
The whole purpose of a blowtorch is heat and MAPP is hotter. I am sticking with it!

I like a yellow bottle, easier to see in the field....
Having said that I rarely hand light these days, electric firing gets preference, firing with a nice little remote trigger I have enables me to get an audience view of the display, which can be useful

Agree on how nice buttons are, but a roll of reflective yellow tape will do 50 + bottles of propane...
Tigg, how much heat do you need to light cotton or plastic?
Rant over... VLC =204hrs

This is the pyro equivalent to the Mac vs PC.
I use propane, always have. For what I use the Rothy for, MAPP seems over hyped, over rated and over priced. As for what I think about Mac's........
