It is clearly documented that the fire services in attendance were advised that if the fire got to a certain container then there would be major problems.

I think the terms were similar to "if the fire gets close to that container then run" and "If that goes up then you want to be miles away", or words the that effect

All I know is that if I was attending a fire at a firework establishment, I'd what to ask questions about what was stored & where before attempting to extinguish the fire.

Maybe each area should have instant access to armored water canons rather then sending in bodies, must be quite a few old ones knocking around - well we've still got equipment like the Green Goddess.

Companies House shows Alpha Fireworks in liquidation.. but that was the objective of the Judge - so that the finances of the company could be examined by an expert to see if there was any money available to compensate the victims. The Judge's suggestions was that the accounts put before the court were 'muddy', that he didn't know how truthful they were, and that by imposing the £30k fine he felt it was enough to put the company into liquidation so that the process could begin.

hello yes it is documented about what was said, how ever i have stated in a previous thread that i lived just down the road at the time and know a lot of the fire fighters who attended the scene. i also have shopped at festival and know them through extended family. so im not on anyones side but you get a diffrent story from both sides i just think if you have been found responsible then you payout thats what we carry insurance for is it not?

Hence why this stupid country has become a ''Claim Nation'' - it seems if theres a blame there's a claim, don't worry that its years down the line, but my mum reckons i can get a few thousand so lets go for it -

*''....Have you tripped at work, or even worse, whilst fitting a carpet fell off your skirting board ladder then call today, its no win no fee, but if you do win we will stitch you up royally - but on a brighter note at least you can look back and think to yourself ...I showed them a thing or two about claiming... remember - call today on 0845givemesomemoney...''*

i agree im the first to have a go at the blame and claim culture if its un justified. but if you couldnt go to work so you cant pay your mortage would you not want compensation. i do not think that you should claim if its your own fault eg. your not looking where you going and you trip up a kerb then try to blame the council for having a wonky kerb. im saying that the acident has happened the blame has been placed at festivals feet so its up to them to pay if the fault had been with the fire service then they would have to pay. would you claim from the person who hit you in a car accident, yes and you wouldnt claim from the fire service who cut up your car getting you out as for being so long after the event he would of had to wait for the out come of the trial to see who he has to claim of
