I've got a colleague who did a (big) cat4 new year display in his back garden and the next morning had half a dozen letters on the doormat addressed to "the householder". He opened the first, fearing the worst, only to read something along the lines of "Dear no.10, thank you very much for the wonderful firework display you put on last night....". The others contained similar.

I was at Billericay minding a barrier one year when a VERY drunk lady insisted she was going to climb over. Some 25yds from the 1st base.

She couldnt hear the crowd counting down, and just kept saying "but why cant I". So I said "because of this" just as the mines on cue 1 lit up the sky.
She shut up and watched, slack-jawed.

Firing a small (racks of 6" small) display with a well known company one year and had a guy screaming from the next house along (big, big houses) Turned out he had a quite serious stud farm in his big garden..........

Yes they do... but I can assure you people will drive a good mile or so to say your scaring their horses.

i totally understand and have experianced this myself!
when i do site visits i always look on maps (google or bing) and have a good look around first (4-5 mile radius) depending on show type before i go so i have a rough idea of area beforehand.
i know maps can be out of date but every litle helps
