Default Rochdale man took 200 fireworks on US plane

Here's an intriguing and worrying incident reported on BBC's Manchester news website today. It's also commendably well written - clear detail not hyped up.

Surely any sensible person would know that you can not take any form of explosives on a plane.

Geoff.... what worries me more is that the American security systems seem not to have stopped the fireworks from going onto the 'plane. Maybe in this case we're not dealing with a "sensible person" - but then we can all unintentionally overlook things or fail to notice warning / prohibition notices! Thankfully this man had no malicious intent........ but others.......

So, as Elaine said, scary, indeed.

(PS.... I've merged the 2 threads on this topic into the earliest one.)

Oh - yes you can !!

BUT - only if allowed by the particular carrier you happen to be using.

Christmas Crackers - contain a 'mild' form of explosive - allowed in unopened packs.

Ammunition - I have carried (checked in) shotgun ammunition several times.

Fireworks as we know them and party poppers - no

Do I get a prize for the 1st Christmas emoticon of this year
