Default Picture upload

I would have added this to the end of the sticky topic How to put pictures in your forum posts, but it's locked and I can't....

Two little questions:
1. Can I upload more then one picture in one go? I tried highlighting several in the "browse" page, but only one seems to get selected, so you have to go through the "Browse" and "Upload" process several times. (yeah, not a HUGE effort, I'll admit! )

2. Is there a way to directly paste a directory path into the box instead of using the "Browse" button? I keep do ing it in the wrong order - so I find the picture I want to use in Explorer and copy its directory path so I can paste it straight into the box, but then find I have to go through the whole "Browse" process again when I get to the upload page.
(Again, not a big deal... maybe I should worry about world peace and solving poverty instead! )

I think the browse & upload was limited to 1 at a time because the system didn't work very well when trying to upload several large file size photos at once.

If I remember rightly, it originally allowed multiple uploads. But when I tried it early on, the system stalled.

In the old days we had to work within strict file size limits when uploading pictures and we had to resize pictures before posting them. But the more modern system we have now doesn't place such restrictions on uploads. It means we can easily post digital camera pictures straight from our computers at the original resolutions and file sizes. Those file sizes can be rather big these days and uploading several at once seemed to stress the system too much. I raised the issue with Pyro Pete and we ran a few tests....... leading to the one at a time limit now in place. At least the system can cope with that! But feel free to blame me for it!

Makes sense... question 1 solved.
Question 2?

Re: Question 2.......

It seems that "right click and paste" works with pasting links for uploading from a URL, but not for uploading from your own computer. But then, how would you copy the right file path to paste from your computer if the forum system could be set to accept it?

I'm running Windows Explorer on a Vista machine and I can get a directory path, but not a full file path because the actual file name isn't copied.... so I'd have to paste a directory path and then type a file name after it. Seems easier to use the "browse" method. Maybe I'm missing a trick..... is there a way to copy a full file path with Explorer?

Ahh, I'd forgotten. I have a "right-click" extension program installed called "CFiShellToys". That has a "copy path" command that does what you want.

CFi ShellToys: context menu shell extensions for Windows

It does lots of other useful things like resizing and reformatting images, copy/move to any folder, clipboard extension and adding configurable date display to the clock in the bottom corner.

Looking at their website there are about fifty things it can do (CFi ShellToys > Shell Extensions) but I probably only use a handful of them.

Forgot to mention, it's not free (after the trial period).
