Trying an established artistic style for dramatic effect, perhaps? Pictures taken from that sort of viewpoint and angle are quite commonplace - I see them regularly and think it works well in this case..... I'd be inclined to crop it a bit tighter, though.

The firebridgade weren't too keen on having their picture took so I had to snap a couple whilst I was taking the DSLR back inside.

Reminds me of the recent story in the press about an ambulance crew having a meal break in a café and seeing another diner have a heart attack then being sued personally because they were off duty and the victim made only a partial recovery. Counsel claiming that it would have been better if the paramedics had NOT attended so that the victim would not need lifelong care. COmes to something when counsel says he's been better off dead!
