Default Google Streetview

Did you all know that Google have launched a MASSIVE update to Streetview today?

Apparently now 99.something% of the UK has been done, so it's not restricted to a few big cities anymore.
I've just checked my mum's cottage, which is down a tiny lane in the middle of nowhere and it's on there now!

I was looking at my house this morning on Google - it was taken last March, as there is a pallet outside, I took delivery of my bathroom tiles that day.

Shame I wasn't outside in my cold weather workwear...

Weird......

They've spliced together the route past my place with shots from different days! For example, up at my Church's School, one shot is on a 10/10ths cloud covered day, the very next shot along the road is on a blue sky day with an empty school car park, the next shot is back to the cloudy day with a car in the car park, the next is from the blue sky day... the next shot, down the side road next to the school was taken at yet some other time! I know they can't do everything in one day, but to do a simple 200 yard drive past by interlacing photos from several different runs seems odd!

My old workplace was like that.
As you 'drove' past the front door it all looked open, with my car in the car park.
But when you went round the corner and looked through the railings, it was all derelict and deserted.
