Default They're baaaaaack....

Great to see these little chaps back in the garden, I nearly fell over him (or her ) when I was putting some stuff in the shed last night - it's been years since we've seen them....slugs, be afraid, be very afraid...

Gut it first as it eats crap.

Form a clay jacket a centimetre above the the tip of the spikes.

The clay jacket once dried, will act like bones on meat & help to cook it as the heat travels along them.

Cook for 1hr on the edge of your fire, turning occasionally, enjoy

With the help of our local vet, we managed to rescue and nurse back to health a rather poorly hedgehog we found on the vicarage lawn recently. Once suitably fattened up it was released back to the wild.... not to the cooking pot!

I think they're cute...a few years ago I was up late (for a change!), and I realised I'd heard a scraping sound from our lounge window for a few minutes- we live in a flat - I looked out and saw a hedgehog with its head stuck in a pot noodle pot wandering around aimlessly, walking into the kerb. Poor thing!!!
I couldn't just do nothing, I'm an animal lover so decided to try and free it...I got dressed, put on thick motorcycle gloves for protection from its spines and ventured downstairs.

As soon as I touched the hedgehog, it curled into a ball- retracting its spines as it did so. The pot noodle fell off immediately so I threw the pot into a nearby bin, which is what the mindless moron who dropped it on the pavement should have done.

Some people just don't think...or just don't care.

Been camping the last three nights and had a ginormous one visit the tent every night at about 2am.
I chucked it out the first couple of nights, but by the last night it was so persistent I gave up after the third time and let it rummage. Seems an empty crisp packet inside a carrier bag was the main object of it's desires.
