Default FireOne wireless question

Iv had the joy of crewing many FireOne displays with a few companies over the years. All have used the 2 wire system that charges the module power supply capacitors from the panel, then acts as the data line.

The question : When using the system in wireless mode, how dose it charge the modules just before firing?

Iv been pondering this one for a few years now, but finally given in to asking. I really hope is something more fancy than just a rechargeable battery in the wireless module.

I think you'll find there's a rechargeable battery in the wireless module .

Dam! After years of wondering I was hoping for some plasma vortex solar state electron osmosis… but it’s a 'nickel metal hydride battery'.

My fantasy has been shattered… you evil man you!

But, if you had the first module communicating with the firing system in wireless, can you have other normal wired modules running/charging 2-wire from that?

I don't believe so, not without another firing panel connected to the wireless module.

No, you can't. Wireless modules operating in wireless mode work as standalone units. 2-wire modules have to be connected via a normal cable chain to a firing panel. One neat thing about wireless modules is that they have two standard 2-wire connectors on them as well, and can be used as a normal 2-wire module in a cable chain with the wireless feature turned off. To operate a load of 2-wire modules wirelessly, you need a firing panel and a wireless transceiver.
