Getting those cannon fx spot on is a tad tricky. What pyro will you be using? If shells, you need to account for the flight time before the burst and that means launching them that amount of time ahead of the music. That's easy enough if you're running with recorded music, but with live music it'll take some arranging. So, instead of shells, I'd go for mines / ground maroons fired electrically with no delays.... you'd still need a cue from the conductor or a good knowledge of the music (so you know yourself when to fire) and the ability to hear it above the noise of your display. It'd be worth having a firing box just for those effects so you can hit the fire button as needed without having to somehow work it in with the firing system for the main display.
I can remember hearing it done right only twice in a live performance (and not quite right rather more often, and it does spoil things!)...... once, many years ago, with a military band on parade with field guns. I think the gunners got a cue from the bandmaster. The other time was in the Albert Hall, London, when stage maroons were used and I reckon fired on cue from the conductor. They might even have had a technician in amongst the orchestra with a firing box waiting for the cue....... is that something you could arrange?
