Default Ematch connectors - something to watch out for !

Hi all;

If anyone is using the Ematch connector socket on shells be aware that there is a potential failure point where the plastic connector joins the quickmatch.

We had a pre-finale rack failure last week where the recoil from the firing ignitor separated the plastic connector housing from the quickmatch before igniting it. We would normally remove the connector & put the ignitor straight into the quick but we were pushed for time !

On a different but related theme, I now always cut off the igniter connector if I'm hand-firing.

It hasn't happened to me but someone told me he had been hit by one as a shell launched.

The less bits of hard plastic flying around the better if they aren't required!
