Tesco Portfires

Supermarket fireworks generally get a negative response from UKFR readers and in many cases this is largely justified given the products are made to a cost and often under-perform.

So when Tesco started selling portfires (the technical name for a firework lighter) some years ago I was understandably sceptical. But then reports started coming in from my readers that they were actually quite good!

Naturally, a full test was needed and in this video I put a Tesco portfire up against one purchased from a specialist firework shop. Whilst this video is somewhat tongue-in-cheek (you really cannot take filming portfires too seriously!) there is nonetheless a useful conclusion: Tesco portfires, I can officially confirm, are indeed rather good.
