Welcome to the UK Firework Awards, celebrating the very best of the UK fireworks industry between 2003 and 2007. These awards are published by the UK Firework Review (UKFR), the UK’s biggest fireworks website, and ran for five seasons from 2003 through to 2007.

Voting was open to anyone who uses or enjoys fireworks in the UK. They gave recognition to the best fireworks, the best firework brand, the best fireworks retailer, the best fireworks shop, the best commercial fireworks website, the best firework event and more.

Thank you to everyone who took the time and trouble to vote. The winners have the prestigious honour of being voted the BEST by the UK public, firework enthusiasts and UK Firework Review members.

BEST FIREWORK RETAILER

The Firework Emporium, Ipswich

The Firework Emporium win this award for the third year running with customers again praising customer service and a good range of fireworks. Firework Emporium’s annual “warts and all” stock firing in front of a public audience continues to draw great praise.

Runner up: Fireworks Arcade

Well done to Fireworks Arcade on achieving second place in this tight-fought category.

Third place: Newsbox Fireworks

Well done to Newsbox Fireworks on achieving third place in this tight-fought category.

BEST FIREWORK SHOP

The Firework Emporium, Ipswich

The Ipswich branch of Firework Emporium defend their title of “Best Firework Shop” by winning this award for the third year in a row, with voters again pleased with clear layout, in-store DVD of their products and knowledgeable, non-hard sell staff.

Runner up: Newsbox Fireworks

Well done to Newsbox Fireworks on achieving second place.

Third place: Spyrotechnics

Well done to Spyrotechnics on achieving third place.

BEST COMMERCIAL FIREWORK WEBSITE

The Firework Emporium

Making it a hat-trick of winning awards for The Firework Emporium for 2005, their website was voted best with their on-line video and humorous non-politically correct descriptions again receiving positive comments.

Runner up: Fireworks Arcade

Well done to Fireworks Arcade on achieving second place.

Third place: The Great Northern Firework Co.

Well done to GNFC on achieving third place.

BEST FIREWORK BRAND

Kimbolton Fireworks

Kimbolton successfully defend their prestigious Best Brand award. Good build quality, reliability and top class effects are reasons you said you thought they were the best with key items such as Lake Of Sapphires continuing to impress again in 2005.

BEST FIREWORK

Tiger's Revenge by Fireworks International

A new winner for Best Firework this year and proof that a high price tag CAN be justified if the effects live up to it – and they certainly do with this beast. Manic, eye-popping fanned action leaves audiences stunned – everytime. A very deserved winner.

BEST CAKE OR CANDLE

Tiger's Revenge by Fireworks International

No surprise that Tiger’s Revenge takes the “Best Cake” award in addition to “Best Firework”. See above.

BEST ROCKET

The Orb by Men Shun

Proving again that an oversized and visually appealing exterior can actually hide a stunning performance too by winning Best Rocket, Men Shun’s Orb makes it three years in a row. It seems that you just cannot get enough of the shiny case and it packs a punch too.

BEST FOUNTAIN

Mammoth Cone by Kimbolton

A full-sized, 1Kg cone that delivers top quality effects at a fraction of the price of competing cones – value being the deciding factor with voters. A clear winner in this category.

Powerful, single shot mortar mines in several flavours. Minster’s concentration on content rather than packaging secured your votes for the third year running. These are gaining a cult following for those who want a short, sharp blast.

Spinning Banshee wheel pack by Kimbolton Fireworks

Pack of three screeching wheels. Good performance, loud screech and value made this a clear winner with voters in 2005.

BEST GARDEN FIREWORK

Glittering Gemstones by Kimbolton Fireworks

One of the cheapest fountains on the market but a staggering performance for the price sees this take your votes. Is there still nothing to match the mighty Gemstones?

BEST CATEGORY 4 BRAND

MLE Pyrotechnics

The first year for this exciting new award allowing professional firers and crews to give recognition for their favourite cat 4 brand. MLE Pyrotechnics take the honours for 2005.

Shugborough Festival

The annual fireworks extravaganza organised by Jubilee Fireworks was voted as YOUR favourite fireworks event in 2005.

Few would be surprised at this result, even for a third year in a row. Devco’s brilliant three-tone cake has been making audiences laugh for several years.
